Job Description

Head of Program

Build The Next Generation Of Youth Coaching

About Us
At tapouts, we believe in the boundless potential of every child. Our mission goes beyond teaching skills; we are dedicated to nurturing the emotional and psychological well-being of the next generation. Imagine being part of a team that transforms the lives of a million children and their families. By joining tapouts, you are not just taking on a job but using your talents for a deeply rewarding cause.

About the Role
We're looking for a visionary Head of Program to own the heart of our product: the curriculum. You'll lead the design and evolution of our SEL coaching program - bringing together developmental science, engaging content, and gamified learning to create magical, measurable experiences for kids. From curriculum architecture to in-app rewards, you'll shape the journey every child takes with tapouts.

This position will require being on-site 5 days a week

What Success Looks Like

  • Curriculum Launch: Deliver fresh, age-tailored SEL modules that inspire coaches and captivate kids across every stage of development.
  • Gamification Deployment: Build playful, rewarding experiences—points, badges, and milestones that keep learners coming back excited each week.
  • Program Effectiveness: Create smart, impact-driven tools to track real growth in kids' emotional skills—backed by data, felt by families.
  • Analytics & Insights: Turn rich session data into powerful insights, fueling smarter decisions and personalized learning.
  • Delivery Cadence: Lead a dynamic roadmap that brings bold ideas to life—fast, polished, and always focused on impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design the Learning Journey: Architect content that grows with the child and is anchored in proven SEL frameworks and backed by research
  • Gamify Growth: Develop motivating reward systems and progress milestones that boost engagement and celebrate progress
  • Test, Learn, Repeat: Use feedback from coaches, kids, and data to continuously improve the experience - what works, stays; what doesn't, evolves
  • Coach Enablement: Equip coaches with tools, training, and resources so they can deliver powerful sessions with confidence and consistency
  • Cross-Team Builder: Collaborate with Product, Data, and Engineering to bring features to life. Partner with Marketing to share real impact stories
  • Thought Leadership: Represent tapouts externally - contributing to the future of youth

You're a Great Fit If You

  • Hold an advanced degree (PhD, EdD, or Master's) in social‑emotional learning, child psychology, or youth development
  • Have 7+ years designing or scaling SEL, curriculum, or youth‑focused programs—in edtech, schools, or nonprofits
  • Translate research into engaging, age‑appropriate experiences that stick
  • Thrive in cross‑functional teams, partnering with Product, Engineering, Data, and Marketing
  • Excel in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments, balancing big‑picture vision with rapid execution

Essential Experience

  • Advanced degree (PhD, EdD, or Master's) in Psychology, Education, Sociology, or a related field
  • 7+ years leading curriculum design or program development for children (ages 4–16)
  • Proven track record building gamification or motivational systems in learning products
  • Data‑driven mindset: design for measurable impact and iterate based on outcomes
  • Strong collaboration skills across product, engineering, coaching, and analytics teams

What You'll Get

  • Competitive salary + meaningful equity in a mission-driven company
  • Healthcare coverage, flexible time off, and generous parental leave
  • Budget for conferences, courses, and continued learning
  • The chance to shape the emotional well-being of millions of kids - and have fun doing it

Equal Opportunity Employer

tapouts is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will be considered regardless of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, or age.

Join us in our mission to empower children with the social and emotional skills they need to succeed!
