Job Description

CMK Resources is hiring an experienced IT Security Manager for our partner in Madison Heights. This role will lead the technology team and oversee IT infrastructure while remaining actively involved in hands-on administration and support. The position combines leadership, project management, and technical expertise, with a focus on operational efficiency, security, and alignment of technology with business goals. The ideal candidate thrives in both strategic and hands-on environments, guiding a diverse team and collaborating across departments.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and mentor the IT department, managing all aspects of technology infrastructure and technical support
  • Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Partner with business leaders to align IT initiatives with organizational objectives
  • Manage vendor relationships for hardware, software, and services while ensuring compliance with IT governance standards
  • Collaborate with project management teams using Agile methodologies to deliver IT projects on time and within scope

Infrastructure & Technical Operations

  • Oversee system administration including Microsoft Windows Server, SQL databases, virtual environments (VMware, vSphere), and cloud services (AWS, Azure)
  • Administer Microsoft 365 environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and device management platforms across PCs and Macs
  • Configure and maintain network infrastructure including Cisco Meraki, switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and phones
  • Monitor networks and systems using tools such as New Relic, SolarWinds, PRTG, and Kaseya to ensure performance, security, and availability
  • Implement robust security measures including antivirus/malware protection, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Identify and integrate new technologies to improve performance, security, and operational efficiency

Technical Support & Business Enablement

  • Supervise and support help desk and technical support teams, ensuring high levels of service and staff training
  • Troubleshoot escalated technical issues and provide guidance on complex IT problems
  • Document IT processes and best practices for team and organizational use
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to users with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Engage in company-wide IT initiatives, ensuring integration of Azure services and specialized software solutions

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Azure, AWS, VMware, vSphere, IIS, SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki, network infrastructure (LAN/WAN), firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless access points
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, SharePoint, Jira, and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, New Relic, PRTG, Kaseya)
  • Knowledge of business continuity planning, disaster recovery strategies, and ITIL frameworks
  • Proven leadership and team supervision experience
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of software development principles is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT infrastructure, security, and technical support, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
