Job Description

As a Training and Development Coordinator, you will play a key role in equipping staff with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver high-quality, compliant, and culturally competent services. Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial orientation and annual refresher trainings for new and current providers.
  • Deliver instruction on clinical documentation, service delivery standards, and cultural competency.
  • Train staff on core service components, including functional assessments, treatment planning, skill building, behavioral interventions, and crisis de-escalation strategies.
  • Incorporate adult learning principles and interactive training methods such as case studies, role-playing, and simulations.
  • Ensure all training materials and sessions align with state, Medicaid, and federal regulations.
  • Monitor training effectiveness through evaluations, staff feedback, and probationary performance reviews.
  • Support audit readiness by providing training on documentation standards, service timelines, and authorization processes.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to community-based staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to identify performance gaps and training needs.
  • Assist in developing corrective action training plans following compliance issues or audits.
  • Maintain accurate training records, including attendance and completion status.
  • Prepare reports on training outcomes, staff performance, and competency evaluations.
  • Participate in policy reviews, accreditation preparation, and internal quality improvement projects.
  • Travel frequently within Mississippi and Louisiana to deliver on-site training sessions; flexible hours may be required to accommodate staff schedules.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing community-based services in a behavioral health setting.
  • Prior experience in staff training, supervision, or curriculum development is highly preferred.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual training platforms (such as Zoom or Teams).
  • Ability to train diverse learners and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within Mississippi and Louisiana.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
